Tutorial: updating prices in batch

You can start the price batch job from the bulk actions menu, where you can find it under product batch jobs.

Google Sheets Template

You can find a link to a Google Sheets Template for performing a price batch here: Link to spreadsheet. Please note: prices in Afosto must be entered in cents. If you have a sheet with prices in euros, they need to be converted.

Price Batch Job Settings

We outline step by step below how to do a price batch, what to consider at each step, and some tips and tricks.

1. Starting a batch job

To start the batch job, click on "start batch" on the "update prices" tile. This opens the batch job.

2. Entering a reference

The reference for the batch job is pre-filled with the name of the batch job, date, and time. You can change this if you want.

3. Select price list

Choose the price list for which you want to start the batch job.

4. Advanced settings

Under advanced settings, you can round prices and set the active date and time for the updated prices.

Round to

Here, you can enter a value to which prices will be rounded.

For example: if you enter €1.00, all prices will be rounded to the nearest multiple of €1.00, so €8.95 becomes €9.00, etc.

Active from

With this setting, you can determine when the prices from the batch job will be active. By using this feature, you can plan a Black Friday sale or end-of-season sale from a set date and time.

Price Batch Data

In the second step, you can choose how to provide the data for your batch job. We offer three options for this:

  • Existing dataset
  • Spreadsheet
  • CSV integration

Existing Dataset

Each time you create a spreadsheet in Afosto, you need to provide a reference, which creates a so-called Data Set that you can use later in another batch job. By doing this, you don't need to give us the same data every time you create a batch job.

By choosing an existing dataset, you can select one of the previously created datasets from your Afosto account.

After selecting an existing dataset, you'll see an overview of the data in that collection.

Spreadsheet

If you choose the spreadsheet option, you can fill in or copy-paste the data into a spreadsheet form. This also creates a dataset that you can then access via the existing dataset function.

After filling in this spreadsheet and clicking on the next step, you'll see an overview of the newly created data collection.

Column Selection

In the column selection step, you can assign the columns of the data collection from the previous step to the corresponding fields needed for the selected batch job..

Validation

After assigning the columns to the fields of the batch job and clicking next, the batch is validated by the system. Once validated, you can execute the batch job, and the prices will be updated according to the provided data!
